Exploring Iowa has been an adventure! I still have so much to see, but meanwhile I have picked up a part time job with the post office and might be working full time soon. This does limit my time with photography but I will still be doing this anytime I can. Photography is my passion and I'm not ready to give it up. Meanwhile, you can see the adventures I go on by following me on my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/jbglynnsphotographyandart Thanks for your company, it is really appreciated.
So I have moved to Iowa to settle down with my family. We hope to build a farm and start teaching our kids about farm life and hard work. I am super excited to start this new life, Iowa is very beautiful and so much scenery I cannot wait to start working here and start my photography business here too! I am excited to meet new clients and make new friends. I hope my new experience here is just as beautiful as the land is here! So, so excited! I do miss Las Vegas a little bit and especially miss all my friends I met there (although they moved long before I did, lol, that's just the military lifestyle, though) however the retired life means I can make long lasting relationships, now. Hope everyone is enjoying the turn of the seasons. Spring is coming! Yea!!!! My favorite time of the year.
Next year I will be taking a break from the business to work on my art. I am practicing to became an artist of Photography. not only taking great pics but then turning them into a work of art. That is my goal and I feel that the best way to do that is to take a break from the business side of it for at least 6 months to a year. Don't be sad! I will come back as the new Michaelangelo of photography. :) This is just the begining and I know I have a lot to learn. But sneak peak:
As I have been practicing my photography I have been blessed with friends and neighbors who have let me use them to practice on. I am blessed to have met wonderful people here in Vegas! This business is not easy. In fact, just because there are many photographers (especially in Vegas) that doesn't mean you will not get business, It just means you have to work hard, get yourself out there and continually learn and develop your photography skills. Photography is an art. Everyone has their own idea of what looks great. And the right clients will come to you. It's a process. You start off doing a lot of Pro Bono work, but that is how you get practice and learn what you are really good at. Yes, you have to swallow a lot of cost at the beginning, but once you have mastered your skill it soon pays off. So thank you for all who have been a part of my life during this process
I am looking for models male and female between the ages 8-26 or anyone who can take instructions for poses and is patient (anyone under the age 18 must have parent/guardian consent. This will not only help me practice my photography but help you build your own modeling portfolio if you are looking to go into the modeling career. You must provide your own clothing but from time to time I will request a certain look for different events. This is not a job, but just an opportunity. you do not have to participate in any events if you do not want. If you have any questions please post below.
